Register here! The COVID-19 pandemic brought with it the experience of stress and trauma. This is due to situations that are directly related, such as social isolation, illness and bereavement, and also indirectly, such as economic losses and interpersonal violence. Stress and trauma, in this context, reach epidemic proportions and differ from the usual pre-pandemic, as they are collective and continuous. Based on the knowledge developed by the COVIDPsiq research, which has been studying the mental health of Brazilians, as well as that of parallel works, this course is being proposed to update health professionals on the subject. The course intends to explore the topic from assessment to treatment, including the various disorders arising from the hospital and emergency perspective. ABOUT email inscrição Research project: Monitoring the evolution of post-traumatic symptoms, depression and anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazilians We are going through a completely atypical period in our lives, due to the spread of the coronavirus and the strategies to face it. Isolation, contagion, financial problems, stigma and boredom are things that generate stress during the pandemic, for example, and can precipitate mental disorders. As a result, we want to know how people are coping with the pandemic, what factors are related to emotional, cognitive and behavioral symptoms, and how the symptoms evolve over time. The scientific evidence produced by this research will serve as a reference for government and private intervention actions. know more Responsible Researcher Victor Crestani Calegaro, MD, PhD Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Santa Maria (2007).
